I am your brother Joseph, whom you sold into Egypt! And now, do - TopicsExpress

I am your brother Joseph, whom you sold into Egypt! And now, do not be distressed and do not be angry with yourselves for selling me here, because it was to save lives that God sent me ahead of you. For two years now there has been famine in the land, and for the next five years there will be no plowing and reaping. But God sent me ahead of you to preserve for you a remnant on earth and to save your lives by a great deliverance. So then, it was not you who sent me here, but God. (Gen. 45: 4-8) Still unsure of their brother Josephs intent, the 10 brothers sent a note after their fathers death: hey sent word to Joseph, saying, “Your father left these instructions before he died: ‘This is what you are to say to Joseph: I ask you to forgive your brothers for the sins and the wrongs they committed in treating you so badly.’ Now please forgive the sins of the servants of the God of your father.” When their message came to him, Joseph wept. [Gen. 50: 16-18] Sounds a bit like the story of God, of Jesus. Does anyone really believe that the Creator of the Universe would have peace between Him and those who disobeyed Him? Does anyone truly forgive those who sold him out for 30 pieces of silver, to die a horrible painful undeserved death? Like Joseph, our Lord Jesus wept that His people, as well as all who have heard the Gospel, still have not fully understood that He (Jesus) had and has and will forgive those who hear His voice and obey (repent of sin, walk in loving truth)....a forgiveness that God had given long before Adam and Eve hid from Him on that fateful day so long ago. Yes, a God who has no anger, no lingering resentment, no desire for revenge toward those who will accept His offer of peace given through His only begotten son, Jesus, which will end in eternal life with God forever! Praise the Lord for His birth, praise the Lord for His death once and for all, for all mankind to be able to receive a precious gift.....do we have an ear to hear, do we have a heart to obey? Seek Him with a whole heart and He will surely give answer to our prayer. An answer of peace unlike anything any human could give. An answer full of joy and love and grace and mercy - yep, undeserved but then He already paid the price! HALLELU-JAH!
