I believe there is magic in Highlands, NC! Yesterday our new friend James Kylen came down from Asheville to play drums at the show, and not even 5 minutes into our rehearsal we captured something special... Picture this: sitting on the back deck of a cozy wooden cottage with the fireplace burning heat from inside... Deck door open, music singing to the sky, sun beaming on our skin and reflecting on our instruments, birds singing sweetly among lush green trees and mountain breeze. A songful joy of spring. And there we were uniting, 8 string Luna Ukelele with a piccolo bass and a scale down drum kit. The transformation of seasons happening among us and nature celebrating... Meanwhile, we captured a feel good version of Somewhere Over the Rainbow inspired by Israel Kamakawiwoole. How magical to play this song on the 8 string Uke with piccolo bass and soft drum kit on a cottage back deck, surrounded by mountains, trees and sweet life in Highlands, NC. Now THAT is what I call making music. :) This was one of the highlights of the yesterday, in addition to a super fun show last night. Life is beauty. :)
