I came here with an ambition and I succeeded. Got off to a good start then had several wobbly moments and on balance right up to mile 20 this was going to be a PB with ease....then the wheels started to come off. I held on grimly but by mile 23 conceded the PB was gone maybe by only 5 minutes or so. Unclear then as I backed off if this was a sign to the body but miles 25 and 26 were so very painful... but a gritted teeth finish i crossed the line in 5:47 which in central between my previous runs and something I am pleased with. The odds dont have to beat you if the determination and passion for what you believe in is there. In my case my view is between us we can beat cancer. I think I was the lone supporter of Marie Curie today but several people including number of other runners commented on this being a great cause. Some runners offered help releasing I was having difficulties. The human spirit is a great thing when facing a shared cause.
