I can go on for days with Bible verses on putting God first but I want to personally say that things didnt start looking promising for me until I made them about God. No matter what youre doing you should make it about God. Parenting, work, relationships, school, finances, coaching your kids in sports, it doesnt matter. For me, my marriage technically didnt even exist until we made it about God. My job wasnt looking to promising until I made it about God. My son going to college looked impossible until we made it about God. Me moving to NC just seemed like a thought in my head until we made it about God. Now my marriage after being together 18 years is better than ever, Im finally doing a job that I love instead of just going to work to make a dollar. I was living paycheck to paycheck until we made it about God and He showed me how to manage my money. Give it a shot and see how it works. Im not telling you to put the things youre doing on hold, instead, just include God in on it, pray, read the Bible, pray, ask God to show you what He wants instead of you telling Him what you want, and oh yeah, pray. Matthew 6:31-33 Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Matthew 6:19-21 “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Matthew 6:24 “No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money. Proverbs 16:3 Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established. Colossians 3:1-4 If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. 2 Corinthians 8:5 And this, not as we expected, but they gave themselves first to the Lord and then by the will of God to us Exodus 20:1-3 And God spoke all these words, saying, “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery. “You shall have no other gods before me. Proverbs 3:6 In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
