I can not believe how the recommendations for baby beds has changed. When our kids were little we never thought twice about bumpers around the crib and blankets on a baby. Or a pillow to raise their head. Now days the doctors are saying never ever put a blanket on a baby that it increases the likelihood of SIDS death. They say dress them warm but no blankets at all. They also say do not put the cool bumpers in the cribs that we all used and thought keeps the baby from hitting the bars. They say to raise the whole end of crib instead of a pillow. Yet I have yet to see a mom who does everything they recommend you do. Yes it is safer but as a mom and grand mom we think wrapping up the baby and placing these things in the crib makes us a caring mom. All of it is worth it for a healthy baby but crazy how it has changed and yet how many people have not updated how they do things. Most young moms do as they have seen done and dont do as the safety recommends. We do need to teach these new things to our kids to stop SIDS deaths!
