I celebrate spiritual awakenings and moral victories from wherever - TopicsExpress

I celebrate spiritual awakenings and moral victories from wherever they come from. However, the maturity of our society in recognizing the contributions of different paths shows an immaturity if it cant mention with specificity how a particular experience was changed by a singular path. It is particularly awkward when Christianity was the path and celebrating the work of Christ is seen as not socially acceptable. In a time when many dont read history or study it, popular films become a major informing source for how many come to view history. I know of no religion more inclined to critique its excesses or mistakes than Christianity. Churchianity in particular has made mistakes. But to not recognize the centrality of faith in a story is no better than trying to over play it in order to preach a message. Surely we will find a better middle ground, but we havent consistently been able to do so yet.
