I cried when I received this present yesterday, because you have no idea how much Ajahn Brahm means to me & how much I have been praying to miraculously get my hands on this book (it costs $25!!!) He is one of my favourite monks because he is always smiling, cracking jokes & so loving. The best thing that happened to me was when he came to Singapore 1 day before my birthday, and I stayed after his talk to ask him questions & take a photo with him. I felt tears welling up my eyes the moment I stood in front of him because he was looking at me with so much concern in his eyes, & despite the long queue behind me, he made me feel like I was the only person in the room, he listened very carefully to every word and did not make me feel like I was just another of his silly fans, it was the first time in my life I could literally feel love spreading all over me & I never had anyone listen to me like this before. I will always remember that moment, which taught me that everybody is worthy of that kind of love, & that I am able to receive such loving kindness even from a perfect stranger. What mattered most to me was not his reply, although I still say goodnight to myself before I sleep every night because thats what he taught me to do :) He reminds me of a santa claus & a grandfather! That night changed me forever, and I learnt to listen & care for myself the way he did. Thank you so so so much Hwee Hwee Ang for picking this present for me, and Ting Ting Koh Yi Shuai Koh Lai Sheng Kelsen Boon Kiat Quek Amanda Sunfeet for chipping in!!! I have never felt so touched before. Thank you thank you thank you so much
