I dont eat onion or garlic and here is why: Onions and each members of the onion family (including leeks, garlic, shallots, chives, scallions, etc) toxic to living organisms. Severe toxicity in humans rare, onions contain an alkaloid (N-propyl disulphate) leads to the oxidation of haemoglobin in blood and thus, anemia. Also, onions have natural antibiotic properties. Our bodies have more bacteria in a healthy than cells of their own, and need them to thrive and survive. Things that kill bacteria ultimately harmful us. The so-called benefits of onions exist due to their ability to suppress symptoms, steming from their toxicity. This exists true with each drug, whether from big pharma or the garden.
