I dont have a problem with this. If an illegal immigrant who otherwise qualifies under the rules set out -- unique language skills or some specialized training -- volunteers to wear the uniform, why not? Frankly, Im in favor of letting anyone, illegal or not, enlist who meets military recruitment standards. Even though the military is downsizing, theres still a need to bring new recruits in the front end to maintain a certain number of troops. If someone who isnt a citizen volunteers to take up arms for the country and defend it, its stupid to reject out of hand such an offer of service.
