I dont know if anyone is watching Louis on FX, but this weeks 90 minute episode was stunningly excellent. While the show isnt a typical comedy even when it follows its normal formula, this one didnt have one single joke throughout the entire time - it was just a poignant reflection on the dangers of kids repressing their emotions and then the subsequent dangers of those same kids turning to marijuana use to cope. There are so many students whom Ive taught that I wish I could sit down and force them to watch it. Made me think of students whom I really havent done enough or anything for in those circumstances. The acting was ridiculously good - from all the kids to the guy playing the teacher (originally supposed to be played by Philip Seymour Hoffman). If you have OnDemand, you should really check it out.
