I dont understand why people are giving Gary Oldman so much flak for what he said in this interview. Aside from him criticizing his own acting, his statements are 100% accurate. Political Correctness has become out of control, and has made us, as a nation, become insecure and afraid of looking bad in front of the media. Did he approve of Mel Gibsons and Alec Baldwins actions? No. He just said that he understood why they did what they did, being in the particular situation they were in. Everyone wants to fuss at him for expressing his views on American hypocrisy, when there was nothing invalid stated. I know plenty of people who say or do certain things, when in certain company or in the comfort of a private setting, and yet these same people judge those who are willing to perform the same action in public, because suddenly that action is taboo.
