I dont want people to misunderstand me. But I see all this posting about how suicide isnt a choice, its a symptom of depression. and while I agree that depression is definitely a huge factor/cause. Arent we doing an injustice to people with depression? By saying its not a choice, arent we really ripping control away from them, when I think we can all agree control over their own lives is what a good majority of them want. Arent we really giving them an extra reason to end their life? I mean if I was depressed and I was told that suicide isnt in my control and that its just a symptom, I would feel more inclined to kill myself, after all my life isnt my responsibility anymore its my sicknesss responsibility. Im not trying to sound harsh. Close friends of mine have struggled with depression and it runs in my family. I just dont want us to cause more harm than good by saying these kinds of things.
