“I don’t mind being asked ‘What are you really?’,” writes UW grad student Tey Chao Thach. “It gives me a chance … to educate about the complexities and diversities within the box of what Western culture has labeled as the ‘Asian’ race.” In honor of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, UW students, staff and faculty are sharing their personal stories of identity in a project called “No Longer Invisible: In Their Own Words.” See more of their stories at: washington.edu/omad/no-longer-invisible/ The project will culminate with a story exhibit and reception on Thurs., May 29, from 1–3 p.m. at the Samuel E. Kelly Ethnic Cultural Center (ECC) on the UW campus.
