I fear that my last post about military wives may have come across - TopicsExpress

I fear that my last post about military wives may have come across as catty and judgmental. Whether it was my lack of caffeine or not, and whether it did or not, I feel the need to clarify: Being a military spouse is unique in that we uproot our lives and move large distances on a fairly consistent basis. We also hold down the fort, as a singular unit while our spouses are away, which can be difficult and lonely if we do not have a system of friends and family nearby. We also may have experienced different life lessons as a result of military influence, and wisdom like this can be helpful to those with questions or who are having trouble dealing with the consequences/results. Because of these factors (and many that I have not mentioned) it would make sense that military spouses offer an accepting, loving, supportive environment to eachother. We have the type of subjective experience that can be really helpful in times of struggle--when you just need someone to understand. So it is a big disappoinment when fellow spouses choose not to take this route and behave in ways that are hurtful, unsupportive, exclusive and unkind. You dont have to be friends with everyone, but you dont have to make people feel targeted, isolated, or unwelcome either. I apologize if my last post was offensive or incited cynical feelings on anyone elses behalf!
