I feel like as rescuers and animal shelters we all need this reminder. Working with rescued animals is hard, especially when you loose the ones that you tried so hard to save, but the next tail wag, the next lick, the next one you save, it makes it worth it: Before you even think about dealing with rescues you need to realize that you cant save them all. Some are too sick, some are too unstable, some are all the above. But dont let that hold you back, because for those some you were their hope, you allowed them to live a different life, even if it was only for a minute. You gave them the best shot that you possibly could. Each rescue that comes through the door you hope that this is the one you can save and you try your best to save it, but also realize that things may be out of your control. Rescuing isnt just pulling dogs from shelters, abusive homes or living off the streets, rescuing is sometimes saving that animal from itself, and ending its suffering weather its health wise, or psychologically. The moment youre able to accept that is the moment youre able to realize that in some way you ARE saving them all, even if its not the out come youre wanting it to be. -Chey
