I found the note of Joshua (Fessehaye Yohannes), a colleague imprisoned in Eritrea since 2001. In May of that year we sat together in Asmara drinking capuccino and discussin the lack of freedom in Eritrea... Never thought that it would be our last meeting... On This World Press Freedom Day, while going through my archives, I met Fessehaye Yohannes (Joshua); in his handwriting that is. We know each other since 1993 and kept contact unitl May 24, 2001. Months later he was arrested together with other critical journalists and government officials. Since then we dont know where they are and if they are alive. Reportedly some of them, including Joshua died in prison. Not to forget him I sent him a letter using this address he gave me during one of our encounters... What you see and read here is the original handwriting of Fessehaye Yohannes (Joshua). I wonder who is now behind the telephone numbers? What about his email address? And the P.O.Box number? Please join me: send him a letter or a card... We shall not forget. Please Joshua respond! We miss your laughter! We miss your love!
