I grew up in a dump of a trailer and Id try my hardest to help my dad clean it. My dads girlfriend would throw a fit. Due to the conditions, I made an agreement with my dad and he allowed me at 15 move out and into a motel. I thank god he did. Now as a grown up, I refuse to leave a dish dirtty........... I have to have my house spotless... I have kids now and I get after them for making a mess... My confession is.... I have OCD... I feel like I need help cause Ill seriously freak out on a random stranger for littering. It drives me nuts. I hate it. My dad still leaves in a dump. It stinks. I refuse to go to his house. For this reason, I havent talk to him or my siblings in 7 years. I feel bad but I dont want to be around the filth they enjoy.
