I guess all of us are dreamers. I dream almost daily and wake up carrying the remnants on my consciousness for just a few seconds and even as I try to catch hold of them they slip away like dandelions , beyond my grasp. Some dreams though are so vivid that the memories have stayed with me even after many years. Running across a maidan ( which we used to cross daily while on the way to school) nervous and scared in the darkness, towards the distant bus stop where the lights twinkled and then suddenly becoming aware of someone running beside me , filling me with huge comfort and relief, standing alone over a vast empty expanse with vultures flying overhead, standing alone on a lower part of a beach, watching a sunrise over the rocks on the cliff above, wanting to pee and frantically looking for a toilet only to find them dirty and littered with shit, running after trains sometimes missing them and sometimes being able to board them just at the last moment (the last two keeps recurring) , in a boat with very calm, absolutely blue waters, but with torpedoes going plomp plomp all around, waiting at the gates in Kannur with bombs exploding in the backyard, walking alone along a lane with the most beautiful flowers growing abundantly on either side and me (as usual) uprooting some of them to take back home.....yeah....it goes on. Dont remember when these dreams occured . May be a pyschologist could have deciphered them for me had I been able to reveal the time and circumstances of my life at the relevant time. All this for an introduction to the wierdest one I can remember, which I woke up from this morning. Amitabh Bachan had breathed his last and for some reason, all those gathered around him were my schoolmates , many of whom I met at a recent school reunion. We were all in terrible grief as we watched him lying there unmoving and cold. In walks Latha Gopinath , getting close to the body to have a glimpse and then declares loudly, But he is moving !. And sure enough , he was turning over on his side to find a more comfortable position to sleep. :-) Now explain that :-)
