I had a Grub Hub dinner last night, using nothing but recipes - TopicsExpress

I had a Grub Hub dinner last night, using nothing but recipes posted here on Grub Hub. Broccoli Cheese Soup, made with a crock pot. Mini garlic monkey breads, and caramel snickerdoodles. The broccoli cheese soup was pretty good, but when we took the monkey breads and pulled a piece off and dipped it in the soup, oh, man! Pure Heaven! Wowwwww! The broccoli cheese soup was really thick and, to me at least, more like a dip than soup. I would think about adding more to it next time. Garlic, some chicken bits (didnt really get any in the can of cream of chicken soup) or something. This was the second time I made the mini garlic monkey breads. The first time was with jumbo biscuits and didnt work. This time they came out perfect. I used paper muffin cups instead of greasing the muffin pan, and they came out of the pan easily and the paper pulled off of them easily, but the butter soaked through the paper so the muffin pan still needed to be washed. I waited until after dinner to make the snickerdoodles, since I wanted to make sure they were still warm when we ate them. Theyre easy to make. Just roll out the dough, cut out the square to wrap the caramel in, then roll them in the cinnamon sugar. The only thing is, you have 21 of them to do, so it takes a while. There was enough for 23 actually, but I ran out of room in the pan, so I didnt bother with the last two. But heres the thing. They take a while to do, but theyre oh so worth it. They were the perfect ending to the meal. Once I finished rolling them all in the cinnamon sugar, I put the pan in for 12 minutes. Meanwhile we digested dinner, since wed both stuffed ourselves on the soup and monkey breads. I followed the directions and let the snickerdoodles sit a few minutes before eating one, but made sure they were still really warm. They were delicious. After they cooled off, however, the caramel was no longer soft, and they werent as good, but Im sure you can warm them up in the microwave. By that point, however, we couldnt eat any more anyway. We were too stuffed on everything. And that was my Grub Hub dinner. A 100% success. So much so that she posted pictures of it last night on her Facebook page. :)
