I have a question. I would appreciate honest feedback. Am I wrong for asking a potential customer for half the money up front when she ordered 5 dozen stretchy bracelets? The reason I am charging her anything up front is to cover the cost of the materials needed because the order is also a special order and all of the bracelets need to be exactly the same. I am offering to print up a service contract for both of us to sign so that she might feel more comfortable with the deposit. I just wanted some opinions on whether Im doing the sensible thing or should I just take a chance on getting burned? Of she were to cancel the order after I buy the materials then Id be out all that money...
