I have a theory that based on the idea that there is only as much matter as there is, that black holes function as a recycling/repurposing depot. For matter and likely energy to be broken down to base parts, and some how redistributed to nebulas and the like. The idea of black holes having wormholes to other parts of the universe, I feel supports my concept. As these would be the conduits which would serve as to mix the building blocks so there would be fresh and new combinations constantly. If matter and possibly energy were to stay in their first forms and locations only, the universe would be stagnant and limited. As it is important to have new blood in a gene pool, it could be as nessicary in the process of existence. The end.
