I have always thought the noble profession of journalism was to bring out the truth at all times, in a respectful manner. And to offer up sound criticisms at all times as well as opposing views. There have been hiccups along the road of course, but seeing journalism as a means to cast aspersions and render insults on individuals and denigrate their persons because they have had the nerve to stand up against what they feel is wrong with our country, is a new low! A new very low low!!! As we move forward as a nation, do we have to behave in such a manner that would make us offer up a collective cringe at the tastelessness being displayed? Journalism is one of the noble professions. Can it be kept as such at all times? Agreeing to disagree, with respect for each other, regardless of our political views, is the mark of a society that is moving forward. R.E.S.P.E.C.T D.I.G.N.I.T.Y. H.O.N.O.U.R I will march with respect. I will criticize with respect. I will disagree with you with respect. Leadership is about respecting everyone around you. Those who love you and those who dont. Those who agree with you and those who dont. Those who confront you and those who dont. I dont care if you are rented press or opposition press or whatever. As soon as you put words on paper, or any other media for that matter, you have accepted a dreaded and dire responsibility to show nobility, respect and dignity. Not only for yourself, but for your readers, your family, friends, those who look up to you and those who you disagree with. Sorry friends, I am very, very sad, ashamed and disappointed this morning.
