I have been in the Military for 14 years and I see the world and this nation through my dealings with the different nationalities, races, and cultures that compose the American military. It gives me pride when I can look at my unit and see black, white, hispanic, korean, and many other nationalities working together for one cause. The protection of this country. This is not common in other militaries. Then I look at the news and see all the things that are wrong in American society. The divisiveness that comes from ones color, creed, nationality, and political background. It makes me sick. Why cant society take notes from the military and just say, This nation I will defend and then work together. Yes the military has a culture that is both good and bad but the good out weigh the bad.
