I have great news - I wrote a piece for a publication by the National Council for Palliative Care called Difficult Conversations (lucy-watts.co.uk/2014/02/difficult-conversations.html) earlier this year. Well, the project is finally coming together and they were looking for an eminent physician to write the foreword/introduction to the resource. Well, guess what? Im no eminent physician, but theyve asked me to write the foreword!! Sooooooo exciting! Things are going so well on the writing and speaking front. My blog has hit 44,000 views too. I was at the TPN clinic at The Royal London today and they swabbed my line, then we travelled across to University College Hospital London for my Urostomy pre-op. I will have my op on the 3rd October, I have to go in during the afternoon the day before (which is my 21st birthday) but this is probably the birthday present I need the most. After my op I will go into ICU for a day/few days before being moved back to the ward. I will be in at least a week. I am just glad it’s going ahead and hope nothing goes wrong and/or they cancel it. Fingers crossed (and prayers welcome) x
