I have had some amazing mentors and teachers in my life. Each one - TopicsExpress

I have had some amazing mentors and teachers in my life. Each one of them has taken the time to provide me with advice, both personally and professionally, and while not all advice is what I wanted to hear at the time I have always taken their messages and locked it away tight in the back of my mind and deep in my heart. When I started with the Federal Government on 12/30/2002, I was really happy with just having a job and content with staying low on the radar. There were a few people that crossed my path that wanted to see me fail, but that was okay too because it made me hungry to be better. Did you know I once had a supervisor that told me I was a poor writer? Over time there were also three important people who saw an untapped amount of potential in me and each of them took the time to encourage me to take the path less traveled. The first being Jerrell Carr, my better half, the one who could pick me up after I crumbled in 1000 pieces and tell me that every wound heals. The second being Gerri Coughlin Combs, my mentor over the last 12 years, who after every time I would tell her I couldnt take another day of the 3 hour commute or the unfair crap, would remind me where I started and where I would eventually land. The third and final mentor was my former supervisor who is no longer with us in this earthly life, but Calvin Revelle, you have never left my side. Im not one to gloat or toot my horn, but my mentors earned this promotion right along with me so THANK YOU. Today, I officially began in my new position as the Supervisory Branch Chief for Investigations within my Agency.
