I have no clue why the word ‘Prince’ or ‘Princess’ has universal appeal. Both males and females all across the world always look for ‘Princess of dreams’ or ‘Prince of charming’ and so on. I think people unconsciously think that royalty comes from different planet or at least somewhat different from common people. This emphasis is very strong in literature especially in Arabic, Urdu, and Hindi literature where Prince is most of the times portrayed as a handsome, brave, morally upright man (probably writers never met Princes of Al-Saud family) and Princess is portrayed as the most beautiful lady with eyes like an ocean and smile like bells ringing all across. But whatever reason, this perception of royalty is still quite strong among people and most of us like to be associated with royalty.
