I have no doubt that the vast majority of men who fought in WWII did so with self-sacrificing commitment to worthy principles, but the fatal flaw was that they trusted in the untrustworthy who propagandized the populace with assurances that such principles were at stake, and were what they would fight for. The facts are far otherwise, which makes this, and all pieces like it, utter rubbish, lies, and wickedness. To get Christians to celebrate EVIL is one of Satans favorite endeavors. We allied with global communism to defeat Naziism, and saved this far more evil aspirant to world dominion from utter annihilation at the hands of Hitler, and then committed the most egregious war crimes against Germany for trying to defeat world communism, and take back the land that was theirs and which was unrighteously taken from them in the bizarre settlements of WWI in the treaty of Versailles. We fire bombed whole cities full of civilians leaving them boiling in the asphalt of the streets when the war was basically over and there was no strategic reason for it whatever; we starved millions of people to death on purpose with blockades, tortured and left to rot in a sea of mud a hundred thousand German POWs, and any attempting any relief were court-marshaled; we repatriated massive numbers of civilians who had managed in the chaos to escape the murderous rampage of communism back to Stalin to be tortured and killed. We ensured the rise of the most evil power in world history, which slaughtered a hundred MILLION human beings, and are supposed to celebrate our role in doing so. I refuse. Per contra.... It was wickedness, and those dupes who supported it, despite their subjective motive of patriotism, were culpable for all that ensued, because we have a duty to know what we fight for and not to jump on every mercenary band-wagon. And Churchill started the war when all Hitler did was take back GERMAN land that was theirs, and then fought back when Poland tried to stop them. And after starting the global conflagration spreading misery, death, disease, panic, global catastrophe and financial ruin, Churchill gives Poland to...... Stalin. And for this demonic perverted blood-thirsty instigator of WWII in the cause of COMMUNISM he is seen yet today as a hero. Rot in hell with Hitler is all I can say.
