I have researched about natural resources in the Muslims lands and found few things interesting. Bangladesh has: Oil, gas and coal, arable land and timber, Pakistan has: Extensive energy resources, including fairly sizable natural gas reserves, petroleum oil reserves, coal fields and large hydropower potential. Turkey has: Coal, iron ore, copper, chromium, antimony, mercury, gold, barite, borate, celestite (strontium), emery, feldspar, limestone, magnesite, marble, perlite, pumice, pyrites (sulfur), clay, arable land, hydropower. Africa has: A large quantity of natural resources including oil, diamonds, gold, iron, cobalt, uranium, copper, bauxite, silver, petroleum and cocoa beans, but also woods and tropical fruits. Libya has: Most important natural resource is its petroleum, and oil. Saudi Arab has: Petroleum, natural gas, iron ore, gold and copper. Iraq has: Petroleum, natural gas, coal, chromium, copper, iron ore, lead, manganese, zinc, sulfur. Syria has: Petroleum, phosphates, chrome and manganese ores, asphalt, iron ore, rock salt, marble, gypsum, hydropower. Palestine has: Oil and natural gas. Egypt has: Mineral and energy resources include petroleum, natural gas, phosphates, gold and iron ore. Somalia has: Uranium, iron ore, tin, gypsum, bauxite, copper, salt and natural gas. Lebanon has: Limestone, iron ore, salt, water-surplus state in a water-deficit region, arable land. Tunisia has: Petroleum, phosphates, iron ore, lead, zinc, salt. Morocco has: Phosphates, iron ore, manganese, lead, zinc, salt. Algeria has: Petroleum, natural gas, iron ore, phosphates, uranium, lead, zinc. Afghanistan has: Natural gas, petroleum, coal, copper, chromite, talc, barites, sulfur, lead, zinc, iron ore, salt, precious and semiprecious stones. Uzbekistan has: Natural gas, petroleum, coal, gold, uranium, silver, copper, lead and zinc, tungsten, molybdenum. Yemen has: Petroleum, rock salt, marble; small deposits of coal, gold, lead, nickel, and copper; fertile soil in west. Kuwait has: Petroleum, shrimp, and natural gas. Bahrain has: Oil, associated and non-associated natural gas, pearls. Qatar has: Petroleum and natural gas. Nigeria has: Natural gas, petroleum, tin, iron ore, coal, limestone, niobium, lead, zinc, and arable land. After reading this, take a step back and think for a minute. If we have so much resource in our Muslim lands then, why is it we are still in poverty? Majority of the Muslim countries do not have electricity and gas? Why is that? Where do all of them go? If we see in the western countries they don’t have natural resources under there feet but still many of them are getting the services without any problem. Who’s resources are they using, from what country? Few questions I came after researching on natural resources: What do you think is the problem? Who is responsible for this? How can we solve these issues? Is it because we don’t have enough money to buy resource equipment’s? Are the rulers responsible for this? Is there any external problem?
