I have to say I had something very touching happen to me last night while celebrating my birthday at Shooters Tavern. A friend that we have known from bowling and she also came to a block party we had a few years back, showed up and came up and tapped me on the shoulder, I did recognize her but if you know me I do not do well with names. Anyways, we got to talking and she started telling Tracie and I about her baby girl.About how she has had heart surgery already, and she had no idea what we have going on with CHD Congenital Heart Defects Families Association - Chdfamilies. She really hit a soft spot in my heart. She went on to tell us about the CHD blanket that her daughter still has. And yes I had a big cry for her and her daughter. It brings everything into perspective about what I am trying to do for CHD Families and makes me want to work so much harder to make a difference in these children and families lives. You think you do not know someone who has heart disease and then you find out a friend has a little baby that suffers day to day with this disease. I cant wait to get her hooked up with the great people at CHD. Valerie Janke Rexin, I will be hooking you up with her very soon.
