I have to throw out there: The level of creepy celebrity worship - TopicsExpress

I have to throw out there: The level of creepy celebrity worship that leads people to be completely forgiving of horrible humanitarian acts (domestic abuse, child molestation, domestic abuse (again)) is just bizarre. I think it perpetuates a disconnect between us mortals and them. There isnt really an argument someone can make as to what the perpetrator did was rational or normal or excusable. I saw an article quoting a women. She said: I absolutely 100% support him. I do. It had nothing to do with his job. He should not have lost his job. I’m supporting him all the way around. I think he’s an awesome guy, I think he’s an upstanding guy, and I think he’s an awesome football player. To me this is kind of terrifying. I hope that nobody ever questions why when important people screw us over (bankers, politicians, whomever), they get to run off with a slap on the wrist. We let it happen, and then ask for more of it. End rant I guess. Heres the article I mentioned: bleacherreport/articles/2195763-baltimore-ravens-fans-wear-ray-rice-jerseys-to-game-vs-steelers?utm_source=cnn&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=editorial&hpt=hp_t2
