I havent posted an update for a few weeks. I am eating and drinking on my own. I am maintaining my weight at this point. However, I have had some difficulty the past week with pain after eating and drinking. The main concern at this point has to do with the scar that runs from mid sternum to navel. About 3 weeks ago, 6 1/2 weeks after the surgery, the scar began to drain a clear liquid. A few days later, the drainage changed to a yellowish color. I have not had a fever, there was no redness or swelling and no foul odor. After a trip to the er, to my primary care, and several conversations with Duke, it was determined to be abnormal, but nothing to be concerned about. The drainage continued for about a week and a half and then stopped. Yesterday, however, the same spot opened up and began to bleed. I have been to my primary today and the hole is packed. I have to go back tomorrow. If is still bleeding, I will have to have a CT scan. Duke is in contact with my primary and awaiting the decision. I may have to go back prior to my February appointment.
