I hear the argument that even if Tuffy was in the program from scratch we wouldnt be anywhere. Maybe, maybe not. We will never know. But think about this. We have lost five games and drawn four. Tuffy scored in one game and got us a draw when we were 1-0 behind. Let us say he had played in the other three games that we drew and scored. Rather than three points from those games, we would now have nine, and a win tonight could be interesting. Its all conjecture, and i dont wanna be accused of coulda woulda shouldas but if he could score in the 25 minutes he got in one game, its not far fetched to suggest he could score in other games if given the minutes. Its worth considering. Remember that despite our supposed better side and better preparation, and better coaching, and all that in 1998, It still took Deon Burton, who i dont see as significantly better than Tuffy, to score 4 goals in five games and carry us thru. Burton was not a better striker in our minds than most of our strikers but at the time he had a knack for scoring and was Hot, the same thing we can say about Tuffy now. The importance of a goal rat to push out his foot and score was crucial in our last campaign. Nobody really can tell what would happen this time around if Tuffy was given the same amount of opportunities as say Burton got in the 98 tournament.
