I heard on the radio today that fruit growers in California are not going to be able to harvest their entire crop for lack of workers. They interviewed a business formed by sons of a former Mexican immigrant which business says it strives to pay the best wages possible. I wonder how much of it is because these immigrants do not want to pick fruit any more than native people. So, as soon as they get settled after immigrating illegally to the US, they try to find jobs in construction or restaurants or almost anything else. So I have illegal migrant workers without skills or training compete with me for my plumbing customers and taking work from me without equal skills or training while I starve, and more migrants expected to come along and fill the most menial jobs. It is a formula for getting millions of immigrants into the country, driving wages down, filling our schools and clinics, and always demanding more and more. These are people who usually were peasants and minimally educated workers in their homeland, not the elites moving to the US. But they live like relative kings in the US and reproduce like rabbits. As the US progresses downhill economically, I predict we will see more and more resentment.
