I just bought an iPhone6 Plus today. One of the huge things that I took way for granted was the thumbprint recognition. The Sony Xperia Z3 has a 21 megapixel camera and can record in 4k. Its a great camera, but only after you know how to work it. Unless you put it in Manual mode, it will only take 8 megapixel images, like the iPhone 6+. It is also waterproof. I have submersed it in my tub while shampooing my hair, while a YouTube was playing. It has a dedicated push button for taking photos, you dont even need to unlock or wake it up. And it can transfer images with a touch from my Sony cameras. Most importantly it had a removable Micro SD card that would record your photos, rather than rely on the clunky iCloud app to store your photos. Just as you would on your digital camera, remove the card and copy the DCIM images to whatever hard drive youd like. The totally unexpected drawback to Droid was google itself. The voice recognition is now considerably slower than Siri, and the integration with apps is nowhere near as smooth. Apps and the system have a very windows like industrial feel, rather than the hip and smooth feel of Apple. Its like being in a University classroom vs. being in a jazz club. The iPhone has a roughly 8mp camera, cannot shoot in manual and does not have scene or intelligent modes. Most of all, you cannot leave it underwater, or even drop it in the water. That is going to take some getting used to. The Z3 I took into the shower yesterday. With the iPhone you dont have to say ok google before it does anything. You just press the Siri button and it integrates with the software. But mostly, of all things, its the thumbprint recognition that really makes a difference in my day. The battery life on the 6+ is much better than my 5s, but the Sony was better than both - provided you have google now turned off. Which is a better, more advanced phone? The Sony. Which one am I using now? The iPhone because of the thumbprint recognition and Siri. I will be testing image quality between the two as taking videos and images during my day is super important to me. Ill let you see the comparison images.
