I just came from the WalMart in Lebanon. There were kids and bus drivers there collecting cans for Basketball for Food program. While I was standing there, talking to my son who was collecting,an assistant manager came out and told the kids and bus drivers they had to leave. The reason he told them was that too many people were donating food! Let me be sure I understand: too many people are buying things at your store and this is bad how? We have kids giving up their weekends to help others, and now the store who profits most from this is telling them no! A friend stopped by to donate food just after the manager told the kids and bus drivers to leave. We explained what had happened and Robin, my friend, went in to complain. The manager inside told her it was because there were liability papers that had to filled out. Im pretty sure that after doing this service project for years, the school has taken care of the paperwork and that the manager just didnt want people outside his store, trying to help others Walmart was never very high on my list anyway, but I will never shop there again! I think we need to send a message to the store. We need people to complain that they want to donate and cant because some assistant manager got his panties in a wad!
