I just finished a call with the Organizing for Action team, - TopicsExpress

I just finished a call with the Organizing for Action team, talking about climate change, and the bill President Obama plans to implement regarding climate change, later this year. It is shocking to me that 139 members of Congress still deny the reality of climate change. Even more shocking is that, according to Senator Sheldon Whitehouse, many of these Congressmen and women are actually afraid to speak out about climate change, due to their fear of publicly opposing big corporations and big oil. I acknowledge that most people are just trying to survive, and some believe that if they keep their mouths shut about issues such as this, they will have a better chance of keeping their jobs, security, and families safe. The irony is that very few of us will survive if we do not take action to prepare ourselves for the inevitable consequences that will result from ignoring climate change. It is time for a wake-up call, not only in America, but across the world. We must discontinue viewing everything as a battle between two opposing forces, Republican vs. Democrat, Progressives vs. Constitutionalists, America vs. Russia, North Korea vs. South Korea. The battle has and always will be with ourselves. We are all humans inhabiting the same planet. Mother Earth has blessed us graciously for all of time, and we need to show our consideration by blessing her and all of her beautiful creations... even if it is too late to save ourselves. We may not be able to stop climate change, but we can prepare ourselves for the effects of global warming. Together, we are all powerful, but we trick ourselves into believing that only those with the most money have the power. That is a lying game. Its not true. If you are afraid to be brave, know that you at least have my support. There are so many things we can do to make this planet a better place. May God bless you all. With love and good madness, Allie
