I know just how upset my friend, Lora Vogt Ruffin, felt this week at the medical community. I just got a call from the chemo lab to bring in another huge sum of money for my treatment tomorrow as our records show that you no longer have medical insurance I have already paid them over 10K. I called our insurance company, found out I was indeed covered and to tell the hospital to call them back within the hour as they were then closed. It takes at least 15 minutes on hold to even speak to the insurance company (which they blame on the confusion everyone has with Obamacare Duh ! ) So... here I am crying like a crazy person because OF the chemo and trying to get a call in to the hospital where I was put on hold and disconnected twice to tell the person who had called me to call the insurance company asap because I needed my chemo on time so I could catch a plane to a family funeral out of state and FINALLY I reach them and this woman says Oh yes, I see we made a mistake; youre covered I was going to call you back in the morning. When I went in this morning they were concerned about my blood pressure being too low (like my mothers). NOT ANY MORE ! I can only imagine what it rose to.
