I know theres been other post about finding an ancesters arrival but Im still in need of some help...... Looking for my g-grandparents. They are my fathers fathers parents. I have never had any contact with my father and only been able to make contact with one of his relatives - his first cousin Sylvia. Shes given me all the info she has but even she doesnt have much. Im stuck at his arrival and also his death. What I have is as follows: Salem Milhem DOB:July 12,1876 - DEATH: unknown (last seen in 1940 census but passed before Aug 17, 1949 when Sylvia was born) Alexandra (Maiden name unknown) Milhem DOB: Feb 3, 1884 - DEATH: Apr 1965 (exact date unknown) Salem first appeared in the 1900 census, single, with arrival date as 1895. Alexandra first appeared in the 1910 census as his wife with arrival date as 1904. Their first child was born in Penn. in 1906. And in 1912 the whole family (S & A, and their 5 children) became naturalized. I have the document and it states they came from Turkey. Is there a way to use the certificate number on the naturalization document to trace backwards? Or is there any other clues to look at? Ive searched all the records at Ellis Island but Im at a loss. Please help. Ive been stuck for 2 years!
