I know this is cru-u-uel, but Im a little depressed about the National Scene lately, and wrote this little story to make me better ... Ive long thought that a few of the Aleutian Islands should be used as prison concentration camps for habitual lawbreakers; put the worst of the worst furtherest out. Let these sun-baked … or not, or soon not to be, prisoners sit around in 330 days per year of fog, frozen sleet, daily Gail winds, and 6000 miles of cracking ice. They could: Build their own kit Quonset Huts’; operate (cooperatively I would assume) food service; rotating ‘teams’ would keep coal supplied to the central heating … er-r-r-r, stove; and polar bears would provide the guarding against ‘camp escapees’ … otherwise known as ‘yum-yums.’ And the whole operation would be re-supplied every three month … weather permitting; however, it is generally awful. The ‘bad actors’ of each camp would be shifted to the outer islands each quarter, which would encourage the skill of cooperative behavior that some might lack. Women prisoners would have their own island, and provide baked and quick frozen goodies for all … quarterly, of course. However, their facilities would be provided by Halliburton, and would be a bit more ‘civilized.’ Just think, what this kind of ‘encouragement’ would do to the Illegal Immigration of the Criminal Elements south of the border … free food and housing, a collegial gathering of like minded individuals …………. Oh, sorry, … I was just spinning another thought picture, … a ‘Fantasy Island,’ but it would never sell in Washington … this is our newest cohort of ‘Democrat Voters of the Future’ … just ask the Pres when he gets back from the links!
