I know this is preliminary, but Ive been thinking about nothing else but this for the last few hours. The biggest part of the problem here is that Leelahs voice was not heard right? So heres my idea for what its worth. There probably needs to be an introduction/invocation of some sort, and probably some music. But I think it would be awesome to make the bulk on the event a speak out. Instead of having people speak to the community, lets have our community speak to the larger community. Lets invite people who have stories of struggling with depression and suicide over their LGBT identity to get on stage and speak their truth to the community. I think it would be awesome to give a voice to as many people as possible with this. Thoughts?
