I love articles written by educated people with legit sources. I also love when they blow away the myths that a lot of people believe. Vitamin K is crucial in the blood clotting cascade but babies arent born with high enough levels to prevent them from bleeding out (leading to disabling brain damage and death). The really interesting thing is that vitamin K does not transmit well, in fact hardly at all, through breast milk so the all-natural, no preservative anti-vaccination moms may actually be putting their babys life at risk by exclusively breastfeeding but refusing the vitamin K shot. My favorite part of this article is where the author quotes a 2013 blog on a natural health website stating that intraVENOUS vitamin K is dangerous for newborns...well thats funny, because that is not how its given (its given intramuscularly), so that author has very little accurate medical knowledge, yet people are taking this persons medical advice...Dr. Google and the wikipedia geniuses have far too much influence on the inadequately educated population. (Im putting away my soapbox now, lol)
