I might catch flack for posting this but its going to sneak up on us soon. Its time to tune-up your snow blower! Change the oil: Its one of the most important things you can do for your machine. Be sure to use the proper four-stroke oil formulated for cold weather. Change the spark plug: Consult users guide or manufacturers website for proper plug placement. This small step of replacing a spark plug ensures a smooth start up when the time comes to use it. Check the air filter: Inspect for dust and debris. If its a paper filter and looks past its prime then its time to change it. If its a foam filter a warm and soapy wash will clean it. After it dries douse it with oil and return it to its housing. Prevent rust: When spring-time rolls around again and its safe to put the snow blower away, clean off any dirt that accumulated. Hit the trouble spots with degreaser. Use a bit of sand paper or wire brush to get the rust spots. Cover the rust spot with a coat of paint and youll preserve its life for many more snow seasons.
