I must admit to this worthy SIERRA LEONE ISSUES group that it was cool hanging out with these two young journalists over the past weekend in Kambia district. I speak here of Gibril Gottor (extreme left) and Mohamed AU Sesay (extreme right) who both, like the very troublesome Messeh Kamara (aka Pipul Pikin), have called me Mum for some ten years now since the time they headed Sierra Leones CHILDRENS FORUM NETWORK (CFN) and chose me as Childrens Goodwill Ambassador. Some time in 2006, after I counselled AU to go through a difficult patch as a teenager, he told me he wanted to be a journalist like me. Today, he is one of Kambias finest professionally trained journalist and human rights activist. I am proud of him, Gibril Gottor, Messeh, Bamine (aka Borbor Pain), Charlie Boye and the hundreds of others who have turned out so well in life as I watched them grow. I have never given birth to a child in my life but with all these sons and daughters of mine, I think I am pretty cool. No matter our political differences at times, my bonds with these outstanding Sierra Leone youths will always be there. Also shown (on my immediate left) is a Kambia civil society leader.
