I must say that it has been 13 years since I embarked on this journey of Philanthropy, Activism, Advocacy and Motivational Speaking and it is only now that I understand what LEADERSHIP means. I have to say that Ive realized that being a leader is not necessarily about facing challenges, trials, tribulations, adversity and compromising your life. Infact many people face that in their every day lives and that doesnt mean that they are all Leaders. Now my definition of being a LEADER means having the STRENGTH and ABILITY to OVERCOME those CHALLENGES, move past that ADVERSITY, overcome lifes HURDLES and OBSTACLES, coming out STRONGER from each situation, being TOUGHER when the toughest have given up and TAKING THE ROAD LESS TRAVELED. It is not everyone who SURVIVES a harsh situation or a DOWNFALL, but a Leader does. ADVERSITY forces many people to BREAK but a Leader will BREAK A RECORD! A Leader does the unexpected and the impossible. And Ive also learnt that unlike Wisdom, LEADERSHIP does NOT come with age! It is within you and through the Guidance of GOD.
