I note the WHO claim there is no proof that travel bans will prevent the spread of ebola , however , the simple fact is to transmit the disease , you have to be infectious and have someone come into contact with your bodily fluids . if you arent there to have those fluids come into contact with them , it cant happen can it . yes its pandering to peoples fears , but as has been shown in africa , and now in the US , mistakes and accidents occur and transmission happens . its really really simple , if we dont want ebola to spread from where it is actively spreading . people leaving that area have to be quarantined for 3 weeks , yes it will be a impost and interference in peoples lives , but given the alternative , hands up everybody who wants to see 60-70 percent of their friends and relatives die of this disease . as for the quarantine , i can see how that could be made easier , have those people in quarantine , staff and run a plush set of resorts for themselves and each other , news.nationalpost/2014/11/01/canada-wont-issue-visas-to-residents-of-countries-with-widespread-ebola/
