I read about the proper way to rebuke a brother or sister that has offended you while in my daily devotionals this morning. Matthew 18:15-17 (KJV) 15 Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother. 16 But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established. 17 And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican. You may notice that the first step is to confront the person PRIVATELY and not go straight ahead and scold him openly in front of a large group of people. The reason for this is simple enough. If the problem can be resolved between the two of you, there is no reason to bring others into the discussion. The devil has been trying to silence me for years and keep me contained in a little box, where I will be afraid to speak out against his kingdom and expose him and his tactics. When you openly rebuke someone, it throws a stumbling block before them and gets the person to continually second guess if what they are doing is coming from God or if they should keep it to themselves for fear of stepping on some ones toes or offending somebody. I will not fear the things the Lord has anointed me to preach about. If anyone does not like what I preach about or how I deliver the message, they can always unfriend me. God bless...
