I read this poem on a friends page and it really got to me. It has also swayed me to make a decision that Ive been trying to make for a while. This is why I will be taking a break for the foreseeable future from blogging. Im not shutting it down and I will honour any reviews I need to post. I started the blog to get me through a difficult time, although not completely through I am doing great and have a wee family and great job to keep me busy. I can posy tail Im blue in the face about me trying to be a good parent so maybe I should stop writing about it and spend extra time being a good parent. I will continue with this page....as it fun... TO MY GROWN UP SON My hands were busy through the day I didnt have much time to play The little games you asked me to. I didnt have much time for you. Id wash your clothes, Id sew and cook But when youd bring your picture book And ask me please to share your fun Id say A little later, son. Id tuck you in all safe at night and hear your prayers, turn out the light Then tiptoe softly to the door. I wish Id stayed a minute more! For life is short, the years rush past A little boy grows up so fast No longer is he at your side His precious secrets to confide. The picture books are put away There arent any games to play No goodnight kiss, no prayers to hear That all belongs to yesteryear. My hands once busy now lie still The days are long and hard to fill, I wish I might go back and do The little things you asked me to! -Anonymous
