I received an e-mail from U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren: So back - TopicsExpress

I received an e-mail from U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren: So back to my original question: If we dont make serious changes, what happens to our world? Take a minute to answer that question now. Remember, Im going to read as many of these stories as I can on the floor of the United States Senate, so please make them good! If you find some good research, add a link. If you want to add a picture, Ill include as many as I can. And if you want some friends or family to think about this question too, please forward the email and ask them to write. More voices will make us stronger. My reply to Senator Warren and all Senators who will be addressing Congress Monday night goes something like this: When I think of pollution, I picture in my mind the country of China. People walk around in a fog of brown cloud of pollutants. They breathe this air on a daily basis. They live in this environment, because their government is doing little towards a solution, let alone cleaning it up to meet world-wide standards. We have no control over this situation, unless the world leaders unite and insist laws and regulations are put forth on the country of China. This stagnant air does not stay solely over China. It goes into the atmosphere and affects the northern hemisphere, which includes Canada, USA, Russia and other countries north of the equator. It doesnt take a rocket scientist to know that dangerous chemicals going into the atmosphere are eventually going to come back to earth in the form of rain and other precipitation. The chemicals are going to interact with our weather patterns when sunlight is obstructed, causing darkness and limited solar energy. Im not a scientist, but I can see where it will make a difference on supplying sunlight for our rain forests to soak up the carbon dioxide and in return give out the oxygen needed to sustain life on our planet. The Republicans are doing everything in their power to eliminate the EPA. We need the EPA to monitor carbon levels emitted from fossil-burning plants. We need the EPA to monitor the emissions of chemicals into waterways, rivers and streams, so that we dont have catastrophes happening when we least expect them. We need EPA to help preserve the wildlife so precious to our American heritage, so that future generations may enjoy the forests, the parks and the lakes without further infestation of chemicals and sludge being dumped into and onto our land. Money is being used to quiet the efforts that are being made to hold large corporations accountable for damage done to our precious soil and water. We cannot let this happen on our watch. We will not let it happen on our watch. We will back our Senators who are rallying together to make sure that we, the people of the United States have a say in what our Congress is doing to us, rather than for us in the quest to take back the control of the EPA in guarding our land and waters. Without the EPA, who are we going to rely on to hold the money-hungry corporations accountable for their treasonous actions towards our beloved country? We, the American people, are standing up with our Senators Monday night. Senators, we have your backs!! You have our support. We will stand together with all of you Monday night. We will not back down. We will not dessert you. We stand united in this cause to clean up the world ..... we are running out of time. We must act now and diligently!!! I am a proud citizen of the United States of America and proud supportor of Senator Elizabeth Warren and her colleagues in an effort to clean up pollution and make a change in climate control. Respectfully yours, Jean Giffin Sidney, Nebraska USA
