I recently had the opportunity to work with the Boston Rescue Mission, which distributes food to the poor and operates a homeless shelter in downtown Boston. I was particularly struck by the fact that they actually had a huge shortage of food. I have already begun conversations with BC Dining about donating perfectly good excess food that might otherwise be thrown out to the Boston Rescue Mission, and I will continue this mission with the leverage of being a member of the UGBC.
