I remember this building as still existed when I moved to live in Bath (1967). It had interesting gargoyles, at least one was carved as a rat. The new wall at front is a fair try but does not quite work for me, the caps are too smooth and somehow an odd shape. They look like concrete though close inspection shows are real quarried Bath Stone. I dont understand why they did not just copy the original, as its such a close try. Anything has got to be better than the dreadful petrol station which was there. Thanks Shads for pointing out this picture.
